Help update Tempe's events and park ordinances

Post Date:10/15/2025 3:00 PM
Community members are invited to provide ideas and input on how the city can update and modernize the special events code. Attend a public meeting to learn more, and provide input online Oct. 22-Nov. 23.

Tempe's special events procedures were last updated in 1967 and need to be updated to reflect Tempe's growth, the size and variety of special events, and the extensive use of city parks. Greater demand for our public spaces means clearer, more flexible and equitable standards and guidelines are needed.

Meeting dates:
  • Wednesday, Oct. 22 at noon, virtual via Zoom, register
  • Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Tempe History Museum, 809 E. Southern Ave.
  • Monday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. at Kiwanis Recreation Center, 6111 S. All America Way
  • Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. at North Tempe Multi-Generational Center, 1555 N. Bridalwreath St.
An online survey will be open Oct. 22 - Nov. 23 at tempe.gov/Forum
