Houston partner Denton Nichols has been appointed to the board of directors of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR). Denton will help guide CPR's strategic priorities and support its mission of advancing effective approaches to dispute prevention and resolution, collaborating with senior legal officers from ConocoPhillips, Qualcomm, Fluor, Kimberly-Clark, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, Novo Nordisk and other leading companies.
"I am honored to follow the example of my partners Robin Adelstein, Richard Krumholz and Linda Addison, who as prior board members helped shape CPR into the global ADR leader it is today," Denton said. "Corporate clients are more engaged than ever to find effective strategies to manage disputes and to achieve cost-effective outcomes. CPR is leading the way on that front."
The board provides governance and oversight of CPR's programs and thought leadership, working closely with its global membership of corporate counsel, law firms and neutrals to promote best practices and innovation in alternative dispute resolution. Though its Dispute Resolution Services subsidiary, CPR also provides world-class arbitration and mediation services administered by a highly experienced case management team.
Denton focuses on complex and high-value disputes, regularly handling international arbitrations and litigation in US courts for clients engaged in the energy, petrochemical, manufacturing and mining industries. His experience includes investor-state disputes and litigation arising from energy contracts, joint operating agreements, merger and acquisitions, sales of goods and investment agreements.
Norton Rose Fulbright's litigation and disputes lawyers advise many of the world's largest corporations and financial institutions on sophisticated multijurisdictional disputes, including international arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution.
