As temperatures are expected to rise this week, the City of Burbank encourages residents to take the following precautions during periods of high heat. Try to avoid strenuous activity during peak midday heat; if you have to be outdoors, utilize shade whenever possible and wear a hat. When indoors, consider closing shades or drapes to reduce sunlight heating the interior and utilize air conditioning if available. If you do not have access to air conditioning, consider visiting the mall, movie theater, pool, or one of Burbank's public libraries to stay cool. Libraries are open during regular business hours and provide a comfortable place to cool down. View library hours here: https://bit.ly/3L9u35s
Note: If seating in the library reaches capacity, additional seating may be made available in the auditoriums at Buena Vista Branch Library (300 N. Buena Vista St.) and Central Library (110 N. Glenoaks Blvd.) during regular library hours.
