The Mayor's Spring Clean, an annual event hosted by the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) and the Mayor's Office, will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28th.
Neighborhoods throughout Nashville and Davidson County are encouraged to organize clean-ups on March 28th in their communities. Metro Nashville beautification commissioners and council members are supporting the event to help facilitate clean-ups in all districts.
"Our annual Spring Clean event brings us together to take care of the places we love," said Mayor Freddie O'Connell. "When thousands of us work together, small efforts become a powerful force for renewal across the city. After a historic ice storm that tested our resilience, our community is showing in true Nashville fashion that we find strength in one another. Every bag of litter collected, every street restored, and every neighbor who shows up moves Nashville one step closer to the vibrant, resilient community we're building together."
Registration is now open for community members to organize clean-ups. Volunteers can set up several types of events in their neighborhood, such as a community clean-up, a beautification project, and a stream clean-up.
Upon request, organizers may receive free supplies, such as litter grabbers, safety vests, gloves, and trash bags. NDOT can also collect all trash bags from a clean-up if an organizer specifies a pickup location in their registration.
As additional resources, community members may contact the beautification commissioner in their neighborhood or reach out to the council member in their district.
