Runoff to Roots: Growing a Greener Santa Fe

The program recently celebrated an exciting milestone with the completion of a new Runoff to Roots rain garden at the Mary Esther Gonzales Senior Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on August 21 to recognize the volunteers, local seniors, City teams, and State partners who helped bring the project to life.

The new rain garden also helps address an ongoing drainage issue at the site and includes native plants and seed mixes, birdhouses decorated by local seniors, and a bench donated by the City's Senior Services Division.

Runoff to Roots gives Santa Fe neighborhoods an opportunity to help manage stormwater while creating greener, healthier public spaces.
