Mental Health, Healing Arts & Wellness Fair

Program of Activities

All Day (10 a.m.-2 p.m)

  • Community Fair - Barnes Park Tennis Courts
    Meet with representatives from mental health and health organizations and get information about their programs and services. Free health screenings will also be available.
  • Interactive Community Mural and Sidewalk Chalk- Tennis Court Gate

Morning Workshops (10 a.m-12 p.m.)

  • Storytelling Theater- Barnes Park Community Center, Room 1
    Storytelling Theater is a theater-based mental health workshop that centers Asian American voices. Watch and engage in a unique skit based on real stories to spark meaningful conversation about mental health in Asian American immigrant communities. This workshop's theme, 27, explores how immigration and adjusting to a new culture affect the mental health of immigrants and those around them.

  • Creative Hearts Circle- Barnes Park Community Center, Courtyard
    Join Chinatown Service Center
    at the art-making activity table! Led by licensed mental health therapists, the art-making starts with a mindful body scan, and you'll be guided through a reflective process to identify stress coping strategies through simple drawing! No art-making experience required! Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience art-healing magic!

Afternoon Workshops (12:30-2 p.m.)

  • Emotional Bingo- Barnes Park Community Center,Room 1
    Join AYC United Mental Health Promoters for an Emotional Bingo Wellness Workshop - a fun, unique, and interactive way to explore a wide range of emotions in a supportive space. Through this game, you'll connect with others, build emotional awareness, and deepen your self-understanding. Plus, there are exciting prizes to be won along the way!
  • Gratitude Mobile- Barnes Park Community Center,Room 2
  • Creative Hearts Community Art Circle- Barnes Park Community Center,Courtyard

Community Partners

Asian Pacific Health Corps at UCLA : Asian Pacific Health Corps at UCLA will be providing free health screenings at the fair including blood pressure, body mass index/body fat %, vision, hearing, dental, glucose/cholesterol and peak flow. NO health insurance is required and translators will be provided.

AYC - United Mental Health Promoters: The United Mental Health Promoter project at Asian Youth Center provides culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health support to low-income seniors 65 and above in the diverse San Gabriel Valley (SGV). We aim to fill the language gap and ensure all seniors in SGV have fair access to mental health resources. We offer wellness workshops, community engagement, and personalized case management to help seniors navigate complex systems and connect them to essential services such as mental health support, healthcare, housing aid, food, clothing, job opportunities, and more.

Chinatown Service Center (CSC) : Chinatown Service center is a nonprofit organization established in 1971 that aims to provide outstanding services and advocacy that promote better quality of life and equal opportunity for immigrants and other communities. We offer comprehensive health, social, and economic services to immigrants and underserved communities in Southern California in hopes to empower thriving communities.

NAPAFASA is dedicated to mental health advocacy through research, public health and policy reform, and community empowerment through civic engagement. In order to get there, we know it takes putting community voices at the heart of our work. We are committed to health equity and social justice by working to reduce substance misuse and partnering with our communities to promote mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
