Chargé d'affaires a.i. of Chinese Embassy in PNG Pang Hanzhao Attends the PNG preliminary rounds of 19th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary[...]

On May 22, Minister-Counsellor Pang Hanzhao, Chargé d'affaires a.i. of Chinese Embassy, attended the preliminary rounds of the 19th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students held at Butuka Academy in Port Moresby. Governor for NCD Hon. Powes Parkop, the PNG Principle of the Confucius Institute at PNGUoT Mr. Ora Renagi, and Chinese Principle Mr. Zhang Xian also attended this event.

In his address, Chargé d'affaires Pang said that Chinese language is a treasure carrying a thousand years of Chinese civilization. It is not only a tool of communication but also embodies China's historical richness, values, and humanistic spirit. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and PNG. China attaches great importance to developing relations with Pacific island countries including PNG, and remains committed to building a China-Pacific Island countries community with a shared future. He expressed the hope that the youth of PNG would use language as a bridge and strive to become friendly envoys for promoting win-win cooperation and mutual learning of civilizations between China and PNG.

On May 15, the preliminary rounds of the 25th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was held at PNGUoT in Lae. Chargé d'affaires Pang Hanzhao attended the event.
