NewsNation Announces Special Programming for America’s 250th Birthday on Saturday, July 4

Network to Broadcast Live Throughout the Day from the National Mall

Four-Hour Special Primetime Broadcast Anchored by Leland Vittert, Elizabeth Vargas, Katie Pavlich, and Chris Stirewalt

CHICAGO, IL (June 29, 2026) -NewsNation, America's fastest-growing cable news network in total day and primetime, today announced that it will present special programming to commemorate America's 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4. The network will provide live coverage throughout the day from Washington, D.C., including extensive reporting from the National Mall, culminating in a four-hour primetime special.

Anchor Anna Kooiman will kick off the celebration with a special edition of Morning in America, broadcasting live from the National Mall from 6- 9 a.m. ET. Laura Ingle will continue coverage from New York from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. ET. Anchors Nichole Berlie and Connell McShane will host six consecutive hours of NewsNation Live from the National Mall from 12-3 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. ET, respectively. At 6 p.m., anchor Blake Burman will moderate a special two-hour edition of The Hill from the network's Washington, D.C. studio.

During primetime, the network will present a live four-hour special broadcast hosted by weekday primetime anchors Leland Vittert, Elizabeth Vargas, and Katie Pavlich, along with political editor and moderator of The Hill Sunday, Chris Stirewalt. Mr. McShane will provide live reports throughout the evening from the National Mall, including live coverage of the day's festivities, special tributes, and the planned national fireworks display.

The network's team of correspondents will also report from celebrations across the country. Jessica Kartalija will join Morning in America (weekdays, 6 a.m. ET) live from New York City's Sail4th 250 parade, featuring one of the largest international gatherings of tall ships, military vessels and aircraft in U.S. history. She will later report from New York's waterfront festivities, including the 50th annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Show.

In Washington, D.C., senior Washington correspondent Joe Khalil and White House correspondents Kellie Meyer and Libbey Dean will report from various locations across the National Mall, capturing live reactions and perspectives from visitors attending the historic celebration.

National correspondent Marcus Espinoza will provide live reports from celebrations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of American independence, while national correspondent Alex Caprariello will cover one of Iowa's largest Fourth of July celebrations in Urbandale, Iowa. Senior national correspondent Brian Entin will report live from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, offering viewers a scenic look of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The appearance will mark the conclusion of his "Spirit of America" Road Trip, a nationwide journey celebrating the people, places, and stories that define America.

On Friday, July 3, National correspondent Nancy Loo will report live from Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, where President Donald Trump is expected to deliver remarks that evening. NewsNation will provide live coverage of his remarks with a special edition of CUOMO hosted by Mr. Entin, followed by a special edition of Jesse Weber Live at 9 p.m. ET, and a two-hour edition of Katie Pavlich Tonight from 10 p.m. ET- 12 a.m. ET.

Leading up to Independence Day, NewsNation aired several new multi-platform series and historical documentaries, including American Made, a series spotlighting U.S.-based companies such as Whirlpool and Ford Motor Company, "America's Greatest Sailors: Heroes of the High Seas," and on July 2, the network will debut "Patriots and Plotters: Bill O'Reilly's Unsung Heroes and Villains of the American Revolution."
