2026 Dream Big Homeownership Fair Welcomes 1,700 Attendees

More than 1,700 attendees took part in the 2026 Dream Big Homeownership Fair, hosted by the DC Housing Authority (DCHA) and Manna Inc. on Saturday, June 6 at Martha's Table in Southeast DC.

Part of National Homeownership Month, the free community event connected aspiring homebuyers with critical resources to help navigate the homebuying process; featured industry experts; and offered breakout sessions on key parts of the homebuying process.

Housing counselors, realtors, mortgage lenders, home inspectors, title and settlement agents, and more industry experts were available to meet with aspiring homebuyers and answer their questions. Information on down payment and closing cost assistance programs was also available.

Breakout session topics included mortgage loan financing tips, asset protection, financial security, IZ & ADU affordable housing programs, and estate planning, as well as an overview of the DCHA's Family Self-Sufficiency program and Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP). The speakers and panelists reviewed first-time homebuyers' common concerns and steps in the homebuying process and took questions from the audience.
