U.S. Chamber Statement on Proposed Rollback of Clean Power Plan 2.0

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Marty Durbin, president of the U.S. Chamber's Global Energy Institute, issued the following statement today regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposal to roll back Clean Power Plan 2.0:

"The U.S. Chamber supports terminating the unworkable Clean Power Plan 2.0. While we are reviewing the full proposal, the voiding of the prior rule would remove a barrier to producing the electricity generation needed to maintain our domestic energy security and our competitive edge in critical fields like artificial intelligence. The EPA's prior rule, which was built on unrealistic expectations, would have forced the country to compete with one hand tied behind its back. If freed from Clean Power Plan 2.0, America's power producers would be able to focus on meeting the nation's surging electricity demand with affordable rates and lower emissions."
