On August 10, 2026, Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, presided as the lay representative at a Buddhist merit-making ceremony held to commemorate the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother and Thai Mother's Day, August 12, 2026, at Wat Nawaminthararachutis, Raynham, Massachusetts.

The ceremony included the chanting of Buddhist prayers and the offering of merit in Her Majesty's honor. Venerable Phra Bhavanavajravidesa Vi, Head Monk of Wat Nawamintararachutis, presided over the monastic proceedings. Officials and staff members of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York also attended the ceremony and presented robes and traditional offerings to the monks.
