Florida Atlantic University commemorated the 60th anniversary of its Career Center with a grand re-opening celebration, featuring a ceremonial ribbon cutting and reception.

"We are proud to celebrate six decades of connecting students to opportunity through the Florida Atlantic Career Center," said FAU President Adam Hasner. "As a pioneer in higher education and career readiness, our university continues to change lives and advance economic mobility while strengthening our region's workforce."

New features of the re-opened space include the Iris Photo Booth, presented by Enterprise Mobility - a free, professional self-service headshot service; the Industry to Campus Lab, a groundbreaking initiative designed to strengthen the connection between academic programs and the ever-evolving needs of the global workforce; and the Career Lab, the technological epicenter of FAU's career readiness efforts, providing a full scope of digital tools that cater to a student's entire career journey within one program.

"At Florida Atlantic University, we've designed the career center with one purpose: to ensure every student can build toward their future with confidence and clarity," said Brian M. Montalvo, FAU assistant vice president of career services. "This newly renovated space is open, barrier-free, and intentionally designed for emerging technologies like AI and virtual reality - tools that are reshaping the world our students are stepping into."

The reimagined career center now serves a broader, more strategic function: as a gateway and catalyst that connects industry directly to campus and strengthens collaboration across the university. It offers employers a dynamic environment to engage with students and faculty, and provides faculty with a dedicated place to access training, resources and support - whether they are integrating career readiness into their curriculum or deepening their understanding of local labor market trends.

Palm Beach County recently recognized the career center through a collaborative partnership designed to align academic excellence with the workforce needs of the public sector. In honor of the center's 60th anniversary, its Board of County Commissioners issued an official proclamation recognizing March 3 as "Florida Atlantic University Career Center Day."

"As FAU's enrollment continues to grow, we are expanding our capacity to serve all FAU students within a single academic year," said Montalvo. "No front desk. No gatekeepers. Just a welcoming, walk-in environment where any student can immediately connect with our career consultants and our professional, credentialed career coaching team. This center exists for every student, every faculty member, and every employer partner - and we are here to help each of them take the next step forward."
