The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Replacement of the Computerized Traffic Signal System (CTSS) will be performed on Route 218 in Bloomfield.

This project is scheduled to be completed on Monday, November 30, 2026.The project 0011-0160 consists of construction of traffic signal foundations, traffic signal detection, mast arm structures, pedestrian safety enhancements, installation of fiber optic interconnect, replacement of existing communications systems, and utility relocations.

CTDOT Project No. 0011-0160 was awarded to the NY-Conn Corporation at a cost of $5,094,812.00 on July 25, 2025 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2026. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be alternating lane closures on Route 218 in Bloomfield from Cigna Way (Int. No. 011-224) to Granby Street (Int. No.011-233) through Monday, November 30, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control signing patterns, flaggers, and local police will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
