Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Hu Changchun Delivers Speech at the Policy Briefing on China Economy and Trade Cooperation with Africa

On April 16th, the Policy Briefing on China Economy and Trade Cooperation with Africa was co-organized by the Mission of China to the AU and the African Union Commission. Amb. HU Changchun and Amb. Mohamed El-Amine Souef, Chief of Staff of the AUC, attended the briefing and delivered speeches. More than 200 guests were present, including AU officials, diplomats from African countries, representatives of the Agency for International Economic Cooperation of China's Ministry of Commerce and China Chamber of Commerce to Africa.

Amb. HU highlighted the achievements in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, saying that relations between the two sides is at its best in history. He reiterated China's position on firmly opposing U.S. abuse of tariffs, stressing that such act of unilateralism and economic bullying undermines the multilateral trading system. He reaffirms China's commitment in working with Africa to safeguard international fairness and justice, implement the "ten partnership actions" of the FOCAC Beijing Summit to advance modernization, and jointly build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

Amb. Mohamed El-Amine Souef expressed his sincere appreciation for China's assistance in Africa's industrialization and modernization. He looked forward to strengthening China-Africa friendship, deepening high-quality cooperation in economy and trade, and jointly contributing to the development and prosperity of the Global South.
