MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Mukund S. Kulkarni Cultural Series at Penn State Harrisburg will present Soles of Duende, a Brooklyn-based multicultural, all-female percussive dance trio and musicians, for a two-day residency that culminates with a public performance at the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre at 7:30 on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Soles of Duende unites three powerhouse dancers - Amanda Castro, tap; Arielle Rosales, Flamenco; and Brinda Guha, Kathak - to create an electrifying rhythmic dialogue across traditions.

The dancers perform with musicians Ryan "The Artkitect" Stanbury, trumpet and musical director; Okai Musik, percussion; and AJ Jagannath, electric guitar. Together, the six artists create a seamless ensemble where music and movement are inseparable.

Since their 2016 debut at Dixon Place in New York City, the trio has been praised by Dance Magazine and The New York Times for their daring collaborations and magnetic stage presence. Their evening-length work "Can We Dance Here?" is a celebration of rhythm, survival, and shared cultural storytelling.

Soles of Duende's production is a non-verbal conversation that intertwines tradition, heart and soul through percussive dance, performed with the full ensemble of dancers and live musicians.

Tickets for the performance are available online through Ticketmaster. Seats are general admission and offered as "Pay What You Can" for $35, $25 or $10, plus applicable fees.

Penn State students may purchase $5 tickets at the door. Tickets purchased at the box office on campus have lower fees than online sales.
