Rep. Steve Reick Hosting Free Prescription Drug Drop-Off Event in Cary

October 14, 2025

Cary, IL…State Representative Steve Reick (R-Cary), in partnership with the Cary Police Department, invites residents to safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescription medications during a free Prescription Drug Drop-Off Event on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cary Municipal Center, 755 Georgetown Drive in Cary.

"This is a simple way for residents to clear out their medicine cabinets and help keep our communities safe," said Rep. Reick. "Unused prescriptions can too easily fall into the wrong hands or contaminate our water systems when disposed of improperly. I'm grateful to the Cary Police Department for partnering with us to provide this valuable community service."

This no-questions-asked program is conducted in coordination with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to ensure the proper and environmentally safe disposal of prescription medications.

Please note: Needles, liquids, and illicit drugs will not be accepted.

For more information, please contact Rep. Reick's district office at (815) 880-5340.
