Cybersecurity Tip of the Week – Keep Your Smart Home Devices Updated

Devices like doorbell cameras, smart speakers, thermostats, baby monitors, and even smart TVs are connected to your home network and the internet. Just like computers and phones, they receive software updates to fix security vulnerabilities. If these devices aren't updated, attackers can exploit them to access your network, spy through cameras or microphones, or use them to launch broader attacks. Even modern vehicles now rely on software and connected systems, so keeping your car's software up to date is just as important for safety and security. Enable automatic updates whenever possible, change default passwords, and regularly check for firmware updates in device apps. Keeping everything updated helps protect your home, your family, and your connected life.
