Kingsway named as training venue for Men's Rugby World Cup 2027

Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex has been selected as one of four Western Australian outdoor training venues for the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027.

The international tournament will be held across Australia from 1 October to 13 November 2027, with international teams to train at the venue in the lead-up to and during the opening stages of the competition.

The selected countries will be announced next month.

In August, the City of Wanneroo awarded LKS Constructions (WA) Pty Ltd the contract for the first stage of upgrades at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex. The works will include the construction of four new changerooms on the western side of the existing pavilion.

The two-stage redevelopment is being supported by a $3 million contribution from the Cook Government and the Rugby World Cup Legacy Program.

The Rugby World Cup is one of the world's premier sporting events, with more than 250,000 international visitors expected to travel to Australia for the tournament.
