Penn State Altoona's Mason Kargo and Halle Kuzminski were recognized for their academics on March 24 when the College Sports Communicators released their NCAA Division III Academic All-District teams in men's and women's basketball.
GREENWOOD, Ind. - A pair of Penn State Altoona basketball student-athletes were recognized for their academics on March 24 when the College Sports Communicators released their NCAA Division III Academic All-District teams.
Guard Mason Kargo, of Portage, an accounting major, took a spot on the Academic All-District team for men's basketball, while guard/forward Halle Kuzminski, of Warren, a business major, earned the recognition for women's basketball.
To be eligible for a spot on an Academic All-District basketball team, student-athletes must meet certain academic and athletic requirements. Academically, student-athletes must be at least sophomores while holding cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. Athletically, players must be starters or key reserves who have played in at least 90% of their team's games or started two-thirds of the games. Nominators could submit up to four qualified student-athletes per team.
