Unofficial results for the November 4, 2025, municipal election for Mayor and two City of Gaithersburg Council Members have been announced.
Mail-in ballots must have been deposited in ballot drop boxes or postmarked by November 4. Same-day voter registration was available for in-person voting, with voters casting provisional ballots pending approval. The results are not official until certified by the Board of Supervisors of Elections, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 12.
Once certified, the newly elected officials will be sworn in at a Special Session of the Mayor and Council on Monday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m. They will each serve a four-year term. The meeting can be viewed live on YouTube, Facebook and X @GburgMD, and can be watched via Team with pre-registration here. The Meeting will also air live on the City's cable TV channels, available countywide on Comcast 1073, and within City limits on RCN 13 and Verizon FiOS 25.
As of November 4, 2025, 5,949 ballots were cast, 3,131 of them by mail and 2,818 at the polling site. There are 42,311 registered voters in the City of Gaithersburg, for a preliminary voter turnout of 14.06%. Voter turnout in the 2023 City of Gaithersburg election for three City Council members was 12.12%.
