Lane & Ramp Closures on State Routes 33, 99, & 140

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Routes 33 (SR-33), SR-99, & SR-140 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 33

  • One-way traffic control from McCabe Road to State Route 140 South for pavement work beginning Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, July 10, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

State Route 99

  • One-way surface street traffic control on the East Atwater Over-Crossing for utility work beginning Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Winton Parkway Over-Crossing for landscape work beginning on Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

State Route 140

  • One-way traffic control from Easy Street to Tower Drive for utility work on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
