Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and Cyprus

On June 5, 2026, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. Cyprus currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their shared interest in further enhancing political dialogue and economic cooperation, while continuing to strengthen relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union.

In the course of the discussions of bilateral relations, the interlocutors underscored the importance of strengthening the legal framework, eenhancing interparliamentary cooperation, developing human resources, and promoting collaboration across areas of mutual interest.

The parties highly appreciated the cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union, currently chaired by the Republic of Cyprus. The Foreign Ministers focused on key areas of cooperation, including increasing trade turnover, promoting green economic growth, particular in the energy sector, and strengthening borders.

Following the meeting, the Foreign Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of education.
