What's new on Blackboard! August 2026 Highlights
New Gradebook Grid View: The new Gradebook Grid View overhauls the core grading experience with a redesigned grid layout paired with dedicated Grade Details and Assessment Details panels for reviewing and entering grades.
Improved Student Experience: A new "Your Top To Dos" widget tracks urgent tasks, more targeted answer-level feedback in assessments, and discussion sorting controls.
Improved Navigation and Notifications: Full-page course navigation, breadcrumbs, an improved Home button, and more reliable notifications.
New Content Editor for Documents (Early Access): Administrators can enable a modernized Content Editor featuring reorganized menus, a streamlined toolbar, improved formatting, and enhanced keyboard navigation. Instructors can switch between the new and classic editors.
Enhanced Group Management: Instructors can now create up to 5,000 groups at once and use drag-and-drop to quickly assign or move students between groups.
Question Bank Export and Journal Release Conditions: Instructors can now export question banks to their local device and apply journal submission-based release conditions.
More Flexible Course Automation and Content Management: Instructors can customize the "From" name for automation messages and duplicate Course Content items.
