At the 2018 Swimming Nationals where she won 2 individual gold medals. "Being active is part of my lifestyle," Maj Vlaar states. "I find it builds healthy habits, improves your mental health, builds teamwork skills and instills confidence and leadership skills that can directly translate into my work."

"I want to thank the PSP staff at both 19 Wing Comox and 14 Wing Greenwood for helping me achieve these milestones, whether through PSP-led classes or cheering me on during the evaluation." Last year, the Platinum level was achieved by only 854 of approximately 65,150 CAF members.
