Kids, their parents, or just fans of trucks and large vehicles can attend a Saturday celebration showcasing the work of those who build, fix, or maintain Berkeley's streets, sewers, and parks.

Explore the rear and side loaders that pick up your waste or compost. See inside a storm drain using a closed-circuit camera. Learn how a Vactor truck sucks up sludge. You'll also be able to inspect city-owned fire trucks, tractors, and excavators.

You can ask City staff about their day-to-day work and careers. Take a staff-led tour of Strawberry Creek Park's culvert. We'll also have crafts for kids and music curated by an on-site DJ.

At this new event combining our Public Works staff, their equipment, and some of their key projects, you'll learn about the resources the City offers and the work it takes to strengthen and maintain the City's infrastructure.

plan your trip to Strawberry Creek Park

Please consider a car-free trip to Strawberry Creek Park.

Consider biking over using one of our bike boulevards. Bike parking is available at the park and a bike share station is a block away, on University Avenue at West Street. Alternatively, ride AC Transit #51B or #88 or check AC Transit's route planner. Use the BART Trip Planner to connect to AC Transit or arrive at the North Berkeley BART station, which is about a half-mile walk away. You could also use Lime or Veo scooter share.

Limited event parking will be available at the City's nearby Corporation Yard at 1326 Allston Way.

Celebrate on May 17 with staff at Strawberry Creek Park. Meet the people and vehicles who maintain our city and learn how you can help.
