DAYTON, Ohio, October 9, 2026 - Breeze Airways, the high-value, low-cost airline offering direct flights from underserved markets, today launched service to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Dayton. The new route offers service on Monday and Friday starting from $49 one-way.
We're thrilled to welcome our first Dayton Guests on board," said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. "Nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale is just the beginning. Later this month we'll add Fort Myers, followed by Raleigh-Durham in November. We look forward to growing in Dayton and giving our Guests a high-value experience right from their own backyard.
Today's flight is Breeze's first from Dayton International Airport, adding to the Ohio service the airline has offered since 2021.
The airline's fresh take on affordable flying was recognized by TIME Magazine and Forbes, naming Breeze to the TIME100 Most Influential Companies and America's Best Brands for Value lists for 2026, respectively. In 2025, Breeze was recognized as one of Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies and named Best Major Airline in North America by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). It has also been recognized by Travel + Leisure as a top 4 Best Domestic Airline every year since it began flying.
Today, a new partnership becomes new air service for our travelers," said Dayton International Airport Aviation Director Gil Turner. "Since Breeze announced its plans in June, we have seen strong interest from the community, and watching the first passengers board for Fort Lauderdale is a proud moment for everyone who helped make it happen. Fort Lauderdale is the first of four new routes, with Fort Myers, Raleigh-Durham, and a BreezeThru to Sarasota-Bradenton to follow before the end of the year.
Breeze currently operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 91 cities in the United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Coupled with its brand-new fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft and premium products like free family seating, fast onboard WiFi, and preferred seat options, Breeze is making it nice to fly affordably.
Breeze's new flights at the Dayton International Airport are another step forward for the Dayton Region's transportation infrastructure," said DDC President and CEO Jeff Hoagland. "Adding affordable routes makes it easier for people to travel for business or pleasure from an airport that already makes travel a breeze.
