Maryland Charity Campaign: Give Back by Dec. 12

Bowie State University is continuing its support of the 2025 Maryland Charity Campaign, which raises funds for more than 900 Maryland nonprofits meeting critical needs across the state. With many families feeling the effects of the recent government furlough, this year's campaign is especially important for communities that rely on essential services. The Dec. 12 deadline marks the final opportunity for the campus community to make a meaningful impact.

Aliyah C. Marshall, donor engagement and stewardship manager and Bowie State's campus champion for the campaign, noted that generosity is especially meaningful this year as families tighten budgets, community programs stretch resources and nonprofits work overtime to meet growing needs. Even the smallest contribution can create a ripple of support for neighbors who need it most.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate by Friday, Dec. 12, by making a one-time gift or setting up a pledge through the Maryland Charity Campaign portal. The campaign's theme, Giving Back Together, reflects how every dollar contributes to real, tangible support for Marylanders facing urgent challenges.
