Volunteer Legal Advocates, formerly DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, has named Fried Frank its 2026 Pro Bono Partner of the Year in recognition of the firm's longstanding partnership and commitment to pursuing and securing justice for survivors of domestic violence. The firm was honored at Volunteer Legal Advocates' Annual Benefit on May 7. Fried Frank partner Katherine St. Romain, Secretary of the organization's Board of Directors, and associate Molly Diamondstein, a member of the organization's Junior Board, delivered remarks at the event.

Fried Frank is proud to partner with Volunteer Legal Advocates by accepting pro bono referrals to represent survivors of domestic violence and their children in matters involving civil protection orders, divorce and custody. Over the past year, Fried Frank volunteers worked closely with Volunteer Legal Advocates staff to help secure meaningful outcomes for clients. In 2025 alone, 15 Fried Frank lawyers contributed nearly 3,000 hours of pro bono service across 11 cases, supporting survivors of domestic violence and at-risk children.
