Get into the Fall Spirit with Bellflower Parks and Recreation


Bellflower's Fall and Winter Parks and Recreation brochure is here, filled with programs and activities for all ages. From festive contests to family-friendly events, there's something for everyone this season!

Halloween Home Decorating Contest
Residents can show off their spooky spirit in the Halloween Home Decorating Contest. Nominations are open now through Sunday, Oct. 12. Judging will take place the week of Oct. 13, and winners will receive a yard sign and a certificate of recognition from the mayor and City Council. Submit your nomination here.

Movie Night on the Rooftop
Celebrate Halloween early at Movie Night on the Rooftop on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mayne Parking Structure, 9736 Mayne St. Entry begins at 5:30 p.m., and the first 100 people in costume will receive a free candy goodie bag. Admission is free!

Here We Glow Again Family Dance Party
Join us for the Here We Glow Again Family Dance Party at Thompson Park on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Children in preschool through 8th grade and their families are invited for a night of music, dancing, games, crafts, refreshments and more - all under UV lights. Cost is $10 for first parent and child pair and $5 for each additional participant. Wear your favorite costume or bright neon clothing (no masks allowed). Register hereby Oct. 13.

Spooky Swim
Wrap up the season with a splash at Spooky Swim on Friday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bellflower Aquatic Center. Adults and children can enjoy a spooky evening of pool games and activities. Regular admission fees apply.

Photo Contest
Show off your skills by participating in the 2025 Bellflower Photo Contest, open to Bellflower residents only. All photos must be taken within the Bellflower city limits during 2025. Submit your work hereby Oct. 30. The top three photos chosen by a panel of judges will win gift cards! Explore Bellflower and showcase your talent! Bellflower Symphony Association Fall Concert
Enjoy a night of fall favorites from the Bellflower Symphony Association on Saturday, Nov. 1. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the William & Jane Bristol Civic Auditorium,16600 Civic Center Dr. Admission is free!
