The City of Santa Barbara's Public Works Department contractor, Underground Solutions Inc., will be excavating small areas within City streets in the neighborhood around Vic Trace Reservoir to accurately locate underground utility lines for the Vic Trace Reservoir Replacement Project (Project). Construction will involve excavating small areas to locate buried utilities in the street. Pinpointing underground utilities in advance of the Project avoids surprises during construction that could delay the pipeline installation process.
Construction is expected to start Monday, October 13 through Friday, October 24 along La Coronilla Drive, Dolores Drive, and Ricardo Drive. Construction will occur between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Workdays and hours are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen complications. Please expect partial lane closures, parking restrictions, and construction noise.
We understand La Coronilla, Dolores Drive, Ricardo Drive, and surrounding streets were recently paved. Due to road conditions, new pavement was necessary to prevent further road deterioration. Once the small excavations are completed, those areas will be patched and later repaved during Project construction.
