Public Comment Period for Proposed Substantial Amendment to Housing Plan

Greensboro residents are encouraged to review and comment on the proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2022 Annual Action Plan. The Public Comment Period will be from October 16 to November 17. The proposed substantial amendment is available at https://www.greensboro-nc.gov/substantialamendment and the 2022 Annual Action Plan is available here. Please call 336-373-4636 if hard copies are required.

The Annual Action Plan outlines how the City will use anticipated U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding to address affordable housing and community development needs in Greensboro and Guilford County, from the following programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA).

The reprogramming of HUD funds requires a substantial amendment.

The purpose of the proposed substantial amendment to the 2022 Annual Action Plan is to use federal dollars to support a new local project eligible for funding under the HOPWA Grant.

The substantial amendment would allocate $3,028,483 in HOPWA for permanent supportive housing.

Written and/or verbal comments about this amendment may be submitted to Shonta Fleming at [email protected] or 336-373-4636 by 11:59 pm Monday, November 17.

Persons requiring an interpreter or other services in order to participate in any related public process should contact the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department 336-373-2349 (voice). Servicios de traducción disponibles en español (Translation services available in Spanish)
