• Geisinger Community Medical Center, Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center were certified as Comprehensive Heart Attack Centers by AHA and the Joint Commission.
• Geisinger Medical Center, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center and Geisinger Lewistown Hospital were certified as Comprehensive Hypertension Centers.
• Geisinger Community Medical Center, Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center received Mission: Lifeline® Regional Recognition and Get With the Guidelines Gold Plus recognition for treating STEMI, a severe type of heart attack caused by a complete blockage of a coronary artery.
• All four hospitals received Get With the Guidelines Gold Plus recognition for treating stroke and coronary artery disease and providing exceptional cardiac care for patients with type 2 diabetes.

Geisinger recently celebrated several heart care milestones, including performing 3,000 transcatheter aortic valve replacements at Geisinger Wyoming Valley; treating 500 patients with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation; and graduating 1,000 patients from the remote cardiac rehabilitation program.
