Japan's first yankii dating reality show, where love lives on the edge and tempers flare, is back!
Badly in Love Season 2 premieres worldwide on August 4, with 10 episodes released over three weeks, every Tuesday. This summer, a new lineup of rough-around-the-edges men and women clash, connect and search for romance.
Season 1 of Badly in Love sparked buzz in Japan and beyond for its raw, unpredictable depiction of human emotions. The series reached #8 on the Netflix Global Top 10 (Non-English) Series list and appeared in the Top 10 rankings across Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Recently, the series won the Best Reality & Variety category at the KISF 2026 Global OTT Awards.
Season 2 moves to a new setting in tropical Okinawa at the Badly in Love Marine Academy. Nine men and women from across Japan, all carrying complicated pasts, come together at the school, where a deeper, more intense drama unfolds.
Returning as emcees are MEGUMI (who also serves as producer) and Nagano , who earned praise in Season 1 for voicing viewers' feelings as a self-professed reality romance first-timer. Joining them is Awich , a top artist from Okinawa with an international profile, marking her first-ever appearance as an emcee on a reality dating series.
Beyond romance, Season 2 explores themes of regret and redemption, unbreakable bonds between companions, and the determination to start over. Watch as these men and women use love as a path to start anew.
Badly in Love Season 2 premieres August 4, only on Netflix.
