Chinese Consul General in Cape Town Ren Faqiang Visits Headquarters of Department of Home Affairs of South Africa in Western Cape Province

On January 8, 2026, Ren Faqiang, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Cape Town,visited the Western Cape Provincial Headquarters of the Department of Home Affairs of South Africa. He exchanged views with Yusuf Simons, Provincial Head, on safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese nationals and enterprises, as well as ensuring compliance in the operations of Chinese-owned businesses.

Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening communication and coordination, and to enhance advocacy sessions in areas such as migrant employment, thereby providing facilitation and safeguards for Chinese nationals and businesses to operate in compliance in the Western Cape.
