Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) issued the following statement following her vote to extend the Affordable Care Act'scost-saving enhanced premium tax credits.
"I'm proud that I was able to help pass a clean, three-year extension of the Affordable Care Act's enhanced premium tax credits.
"One of the biggest issues my constituents face is increasing costs. It is getting harder and harder to afford basic needs like housing, groceries, and health care. This bill will protect families from having to pay double or even triple their normal health care costs. However, we still have long way to go toward making health care truly affordable.
"This bill now heads to the Senate for their consideration. It's up to Donald Trump and Senate Republicans to decide if they want to stop rising costs and address the affordability crisis. I urge them to make the right decision and extend these credits for the American people."
