Hey Now, It’s a Shrek Rave, at The Great New York State…Fair!

"Fire up the ovens, Muffin Man! We got a big order to fill," as the sensational ogre-themed Shrek Rave makes its way from the swamp to Chevy Court at The Great New York State Fair on Friday, September 4, at 9 p.m.

"Shrekno" provides an immersive 360° projection experience complete with animations of iconic Shrek characters and a light show perfectly paired with the flow of music. This campy, countercultural phenomenon offers lovers of the Shrek franchise the chance to don their favorite character's costume and vibe along to hit songs from the movies' soundtracks. Whether you're Donkey dancing to "I'm a Believer" or Lord Farquaad finding the rhythm to "All Star," you won't want to miss this completely unique musical cosplay event.

"Nostalgia is a big element of The Great New York State Fair experience," said Fair Director Julie LaFave. "For many fairgoers, the music and memories of Shrek are fun, upbeat and full of nostalgia. We can't wait to bring this one-of-a-kind night to the fairgrounds!"

Fairgoers are encouraged to dress the part while abiding by The Fair's dress code, which does not allow for masks or face coverings. Details can be found here: Rules of Conduct - The Great New York State Fair.

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 26, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country. Tickets are $8 for adults while admission is free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.

There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and an 8 p.m. concert each evening at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).
