$160 million authorized to benefit Offutt Air Force Base, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Lincoln Air National Guard Base
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and chair of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee, announced key provisions secured for Nebraska and Offutt Air Force Base in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
"Nebraska plays a central role in our national security," Fischer said. "This NDAA strongly supports the missions of Strategic Command, the 55th Wing, the 557th Weather Wing, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, and the Nebraska National Guard during this process. We're investing in our military capabilities like never before, and I'm proud to bring a piece of that home to our state."
Fischer secured authorization for critical investments for Offutt Air Force Base and Lincoln Air National Guard Base:

$69 million for the Defense POW/MIA Laboratory at Offutt Air Force Base

$40 million for DPAA

$15 million for the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) supply storage facility at Offutt Air Force Base

$11.2 million to support the design of STRATCOM's Base and Operation Mobility Center on Offutt Air Force Base

$10 million for STRATCOM's Nuclear Command, Control, Communications (NC3) Rapid Engineering Architecture Collaboration Hub (REACH)

$10 million for STRATCOM's NC3 network sensor demonstration

$4 million for the planning and design of a parking apron at Lincoln Air National Guard Base

$1.5 million for the design to replace the vehicle search area at Offutt Air Force Base
Fischer secured several provisions aimed at supporting missions at Offutt Air Force Base and improving military health readiness:

Required space weather to be integrated into space domain awareness doctrine and operations

Required quarterly reports on sustainment funding and spare parts for the RC-135 fleet

Established a program for the safe, long-range aerial transport of servicemembers infected by a high-consequence infectious disease

Directed an assessment of expanding the Military-Civilian Medical Surge Program

Limited funds pending submission of the strategy to sustain the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile and maximize end of life margin
