Eaton Fire: Active Fire Response Update

PASADENA, CA - We understand how difficult and uncertain this time is for all residents impacted by the ongoing Eaton fire. Devastating losses suffered by so many in our community are unfathomable, and there is a need for accurate information as to precisely what those losses are.

At this time, damage assessments cannot be conducted as crews are still actively battling the Eaton blaze and working tirelessly to contain the fire to limit any further loss to life and property as much as possible. We recognize the urgent need for information, and as soon as it is safe for assessment teams to enter the affected areas, they will be deployed immediately.

We ask for your continued patience and understanding as emergency personnel work in dangerous conditions to protect lives, homes, and property. Many of these areas are still under an EVACUATION ORDER it continues to be too dangerous to allow residents back in. Please know we are committed to keeping you informed and supporting recovery efforts as soon as it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, you can take the following actions to help with any potential claims:

  • Make detailed notes of damaged items and property, and gather photos/videos of any visible damage or losses
  • Keep track of all your expenses and document everything
  • Contact your insurance company to start the claim process.

The City is working with the County of Los Angeles to set up a Local Assistance Center (Resource Center) for residents to come and get critical documents replaced, help them file claims, and provide information for those impacted by the fires. Once a location and date has been determined, we will provide additional information.
