Mayor Pitts declares May Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month, Distracted Driving Awareness Month
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts issued proclamations naming the month of May both Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month and Distracted Driving Awareness Month at the City Council's regular session on May 1.
Ward 2 Councilman Deanna McLaughlin presented the proclamation for Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and Mayor Pitts presented the proclamation for Distracted Driver Awareness Month, which wasa joint proclamation by himself and County Mayor Wes Golden.
Representatives from Clarksville Police Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol in attendance for both presentations.
"We want to encourage every citizen, just be aware… We have other drivers that just need you to pay attention to the road."
