April 20 is Voter Registration Deadline for May 19 General Primary & Nonpartisan General Election

Monday, April 20, 2026, is the last day for Forsyth County residents to register to vote or to make changes to their voter registration information for the May 19, 2026, General Primary & Nonpartisan General Election.

In Georgia, a person must be registered to vote 30 days prior to the election to be eligible to vote in the election. A Voter Registration Application must be completely filled out, signed by the applicant and a valid residence address provided. A registered voter's Election Day polling place is specific to where their residence lies within the designated precinct lines. In Georgia, individuals do not register to vote by party.

Residents can register to vote or make updates to their information in the following ways:

• Online at: www.mvp.sos.ga.gov
• In person or by mail to: Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA, 30040)

Applications are also available at any public library and select government offices. Submitted applications that do not meet the April 20 deadline will be processed after certification of the May 19, 2026, election results.

All Forsyth County residents are encouraged to verify their current voter registration status at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov. Individuals are responsible for confirming they are registered to vote and keeping their voter information up to date. Voters wishing to cast a ballot in the upcoming election should confirm their registration record accurately reflects their current residence address and current name. Any changes need to be submitted by the voter registration deadline.
