Support Small Business: With the holidays quickly approaching, make sure to shop local and support Stamford's small businesses! From boutiques to artisan crafts and bakeries, our small businesses offer something for everyone. They are the backbone of our city, and we will continue to find ways to support and highlight them. A Special thanks to everyone who came out to support small businesses and vendors this past Monday at the Holiday Market.

Winter Road Maintenance: Special thanks to our road maintenance crews for their tireless efforts during the winter season that ensure residents can travel safely despite challenging conditions involving snow, ice, and wind. For information regarding snow emergency routes, alternate side parking regulations, and weather-related updates, residents are encouraged to visit the official City website here.

Veterans Tax Credit Expansion: Last week, I was honored to join Stamford veterans and local officials at the Veterans Resource Center to celebrate the new Veterans Property Tax Exemption Ordinance, which expands property tax relief for the men and women who have served our nation and given so much to our community. Lathon Wider Community Center: On the morning of Thursday, January 2, the City Facilities Department was notified of a flooding incident in the basement of the Lathon Wider Community Center (137 Henry Street) caused by a failure in a piece of mechanical equipment. The target date for reopening the building is early January 2026. For any questions or urgent needs regarding the Health Department's walk-in health services, please call (203)-977-5652.

Stamford's Clean Energy & Resilience Survey: The City of Stamford and the Connecticut Green Bank are gathering community input as part of an ongoing effort to advance the goals outlined in Stamford's 2035 Comprehensive Plan. Together, we've issued a Request for Information to identify potential clean energy and resilience projects across the city. Take this short survey to help understand what matters most to you.

Walk In Permitting: Walk-in Permitting occurs weekly every Wednesday from 8:30 - 10:30 am. Walk-in permitting sessions take place on the 7th floor of the Stamford Government Center. For more information, visit here

Open Enrollment: Open enrollment in Connecticut runs from November 1st to January 15th. During this time, residents can sign up for, renew, or make changes to their health coverage for 2026. Individuals and families can enroll directly at any Community Health Center across Stamford and the state, where trained and certified staff are available to provide free, in-person assistance throughout the process.

Stamford Kwanzaa Celebration: On Saturday, December 27 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the Government Center, join The City of Stamford, Stamford Kwanzaa Association, Ferguson Library, and Black Caucus of the American Library Association with guest speaker Rev. Tamesha Mills for a Kwanzaa celebration.

Wire Mill Bridge: Reconstruction of the Wire Mill Bridge is now complete, and the bridge is open to vehicular traffic! Thank you to our engineering department who worked hard to complete this before the year end deadline.

Old Long Ridge Road Bridge: After a visual inspection of the Old Long Ridge Road Bridge, just south of Hunting Ridge Road, city engineers have implemented a temporary one-way traffic pattern, effective immediately. The City will share further updates as they become available.

Mill Road Bridge: The Mill Road bridge near Old Long Ridge Road is open to one lane vehicular traffic. Residents can click here for updates.
