Route 7 at Sellars Creek northwest of Richland to close next week

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo - Missouri Route 7, between Camden County Route T and the city of Richland, is set to close next week at Sellars Creek. While the driving surface is being replaced, a signed detour will direct all traffic around the closure.

T he morning of June 1, construction crews, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close the Route 7 bridge over Sellars Creek to all traffic for the deck (driving surface) to be replaced . The bridge is tentatively scheduled to reopen in mid-August. During construction, motorists will be directed around the closure via Camden County Routes T and H .

T he bridge over Sellars Creek was built in 1964 and rehabilitated in 1988. While the supporting structures are in good condition, the driving surface ha s deteriorated and need s to be replaced. The new bridge deck will be 26 feet wide , the same wi d th as the current structur e, and feature new concrete barriers .

Later this year, after work over Sellars Creek is complete, crews will also replace the deck of the Route 7 bridge over Murphy Creek .

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

As part of their January meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,099,994.73 contract for this work to E & C Bridge, LLC for work on both the Sellars Creek and Murphy Creek bridge s .
