The University of South Florida announced the appointment of Jenifer Jasinski Schneider as the new dean of the College of Education, bringing to the role a distinguished record of leadership, research and service focused on literacy, creativity and student success.
Jasinski Schneider has served as interim dean of the college since December 2024. A professor of literacy studies and former Fulbright Scholar, she has built a nationally recognized body of work centered on arts-based approaches to literacy education, children's literature and multimodal learning. Her research explores how students develop meaning through writing, reading and digital tools, including emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
In her role as dean, Jasinski Schneider will lead a college committed to preparing the next generation of educators, expanding research that improves learning outcomes and strengthening partnerships with school districts and communities across the Tampa Bay region. In collaboration with the faculty and staff, she will continue to scale research and practice to position the college as a national leader shaping the future of education, including the transformative role of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
