City invites feedback on parking and mobility changes

Published March 18 2026

Community events in April and May

Did you know Bellevue's parking regulations are several decades old? Join the city's planning staff for an open house to learn about proposed updates to parking and mobility requirements.

Two in-person open houses, both 5:30-7:30 p.m. and covering the same information, will be on Monday, April 20, at City Hall and Wednesday, May 6, at Crossroads Community Center. A third, virtual event is scheduled for Friday, May 8, noon-1:15 p.m.

The in-person events will feature visual displays that explain why the city is updating these rules, how the proposed standards would work and what the changes could mean for accessibility, transportation and housing across Bellevue. Community members can move through the displays at their own pace, talk with staff, ask questions and share feedback that will help shape the final proposal. The virtual event will include a brief presentation, a question-and-answer session and a reminder of how community members can provide input as the proposal moves forward.

Topics will include parking requirements, areas where minimums could be removed, accessible parking, shared and off-site parking, bicycle parking and updated design standards for loading areas and internal walkways. The open houses will also highlight which parts of the proposal are still open to change and how community feedback will guide the next steps.

Registration is encouraged but not required. Learn more and register at Eventbrite. Additional project information is available at Parking Reform.
