As part of a larger City-wide sewer station improvement project, a gravity sewer line installation on South Kingston Avenue and East Zion Street is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 27.
The project will be completed in two phases. During the first phase of the project, construction will begin in the on South Kingston Avenue, from East Apache to East Zion Streets. During that time, South Kingston Avenue will be closed to thru traffic. This phase is anticipated to last three weeks.
In the second phase, work will move onto East Zion Street between South Kingston Avenue and East Young Place. This phase is anticipated to last up to five months, and during that time, East Zion Street will be closed to traffic.
During construction, drivers are encouraged to slow down and follow all posted traffic signs.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Timber Wolf Excavation LLC for this $2,734,000 TMUA Water Operating Fund project, and construction is scheduled for completion in November of this year.
Area neighbors have already been notified, and a public meeting was held to discuss project specifics in November at Lacy Park Community Center.
