Beer, Bacon, and Baseball: BA Strengthens Federal Advocacy Ties

On June 10, the BA government affairs team co-hosted a reception alongside the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) at Bluejacket Brewery ahead of the Congressional Baseball Game in Washington, D.C., bringing together congressional staff and industry partners for an evening of relationship building and engagement.

The partnership with NPPC reflects the strong connection between America's brewers and agricultural producers. From barley and hop growers to livestock producers who benefit from brewers' spent grain, brewing remains deeply connected to the broader agricultural economy. This relationship was highlighted throughout the event and reinforces the message behind BA's Brews to Barns initiative, which showcases the many ways breweries support farmers and rural communities.

Events like these provide valuable opportunities to engage policymakers and staff in an informal setting, strengthening existing relationships and establishing new connections that support the brewing industry's advocacy efforts. Throughout the evening and during the Congressional Baseball Game, BA staff connected with congressional offices and committee staff on issues important to brewers while reinforcing the industry's economic contributions and policy priorities.

The Congressional Baseball Game remains one of Washington's premier bipartisan events, offering a unique venue for meaningful conversations and long-term relationship building. The BA will continue to leverage opportunities like this to advance industry priorities and maintain strong connections with elected officials.
