The damage, especially to our growers, farmers, and producers, cannot be overstated. My prayers are with everyone who is grieving the loss of life and property following this historic destruction," said Rep. Carter."I'm calling on Congress to swiftly approve all necessary funding to assist our community's recovery and am ready to return to Washington to get the job done."

Rep. Carter has been in constant communication with the White House, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and Governor Brian Kemp to expand the Major Disaster Declaration to include all impacted First District counties. This declaration releases federal funding to help the recovery of communities and individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene. Currently, the qualifying First District counties include: Appling, Bacon, Chatham, Liberty, Pierce, and Ware.
