Funding Opportunity: Advance Racial & Indigenous Health Equity with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

May 14, 2025

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), a valued partner of ASPPH, is offering a new funding opportunity through its Evidence for Action (E4A) program to support research advancing racial and Indigenous health equity. Two tracks are available: Rapid Response Research proposals (due May 28, 2025) and New Research Support letters of intent (due July 16, 2025).

The E4A initiative is a national program that funds action-oriented health equity research, which prioritizes community knowledge and facilitates the relationships and governance structures that build community power, ownership of research, and systems change

There are two funding tracks available in this new funding opportunity:

  • Rapid Response Research: For existing projects disrupted by federal funding losses. Grants range from $50,000 to $200,000 over two years. Proposals are due May 28, 2025.
  • New Research Support: For community-based organizations leading new, equity-focused research. RWJF expects to award four grants at $250,000 and four at $500,000, each for up to three years. Letters of intent are due July 16, 2025.
