Chinese Consul General in Cape Town Ren Faqiang Pays a Visit to ICGEB Cape Town

On June17, 2026, Ren Faqiang, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Cape Town, paid a visit to International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology(ICGEB) Cape Town. He met and discussed with Director Mr Luiz F. Zerbini, exchanging views on deepening scientific research cooperation with China. 

Consul General Ren commended ICGEB Cape Town for its significant contributions to promoting global scientific research cooperation in the fields of genetic engineering and biotechnology including between China and South Africa. He emphasized that the Consulate General will continue to serve the practical cooperation in the field of scientific research with China.

Director Zerbini welcomed Consul General Ren's visit, Accompany his visit to the relevant scientific research facilities, and expressed his willingness to continuously participate in practical collaboration on scientific research and talents cultivation with China, deepening bilateral partnership.
