It's been fourteen years since the Black and Gold President's Council was established and the first group of inductees became official representatives of the university. To become a member of BGPC, rising junior and senior students must first be nominated by a faculty or staff member, then apply and undergo an intense interview process. If chosen, they are required to maintain at least a 3.0 G.P.A., remain active within the campus community, and attend numerous events on behalf of TLU, including Board of Regents, presidential, and development and alumni events. Through these experiences, BGPC members act as ambassadors for TLU, and are given valuable networking and mentoring opportunities.
This year, TLU welcomes eight new members to the council: Ainsley Lake, Andreya Lozano-Lomeli, Isaiah Jones, Lisa Busby, Michaela McLean, Monica Sitachitta, Nicole Bloodgood, and Stormy Owenby.
Graduating senior BGCP members are Emily Clymer, Gianna (Gigi) Baeza-Smith, Hallie Strange, Logan Randall, and Taylor Vannett.
TLU applauds and appreciates the dedication and service of all BGPC members.
